The Henry County Schools – McKinney-Vento Program (Education for Homeless Children and Youth Program) in Georgia was established in 1993 under the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act of 1987, a federal law passed in that year. The law is intended, in part, to guarantee educational rights and support for students and youths experiencing homelessness, allowing immediate enrollment, attendance, and success in schools even if they lack documentation.
